i am looking for ideas for my engine bay

Image

here is what it looks like now

i have some thaulghts but would like to see what is out there

i am thinking keeping the flat black aprons and towers

painting the engine gloss black

the air cleaner and vave covers will go orange

stainless bolts, aluminium intake, a pollished edelbrock carb, msd pro billet dizzy

so mainly the engine will be black and silver with orange highlights

looking for options on the hoses

i don't care much for the black rubber heater hoses cluttering up the engine

i am also thinking of moving the wireing harness

I used Krylon 1613 and like it a lot better than gloss.

Chris, I don't think I'd go with the orange. Makes me think of an ol' chevy. But my engine compartment is all semi-gloss black. My engine is gloss black, with aluminum valve covers and chrome air cleaner. I'm also putting in a bit of blue (dizzy cap, harmonic balancer).

For the hoses, I think you can buy braided stainless sleeves or maybe even the entire hoses.

I like your engine now, why not just clean it up and leave it as is?

My engine compartment looks a lot like Chris' (68 Snake Bite) and I've been doing the same research. Lot's of great examples here but S281SC is by far my favorite. Nicely done !

Chris,

If you look at front of trailer of better yet click on it than look at thumbnails you can see how mine looked before current changes will be diffent again when done this time.

IMHO If I were doing your's I wouls stay away from orange, too chevy, I would do something diffent do everything in black anodized but OMHO

But hell its your car do it your way.

Here is the 393w in my '69. Not real pretty, but it has some unique features, if you can find them.

No heater hoses?

edit: nm I guess this is before it was finished, as you dont have the pcv to carb connection on either...
