The site has been down all day. For the past 30 days it's been plagued with hackers. Do you think their installing new software or keeping it down for a little while to discourage hackers???

A few days ago they said they were installing a server software upgrade, in part, to address the spammers. It was aborted because they needed an additional software upgrade they did not have yet.

My assumption is that it is being done by volunteer help and is an involved task that has not gone smoothly. Hopefully the data there is revovered because for us 69-70 guys it has a wealth of information.

Yes, it is a wealth of info for me since I am restoring a 69 Coupe it is a go-to site for info for me. It will be missed by me if it is gone. :(

Correct. A software upgrade is underway. It was attempted about two weeks ago and they found the server's they were using were not up to the task of the new software. The upgrade is mainly being shouldered by admin's. But some of us member's, myself included, have also made donations to help pay for the software. Hopefully Brian will have it all up and running in a few days. I too miss the site. Bruce

It will come back one way or another. Last time the upgrade didn't work they just installed a backup copy of the database and brought it back up. I assume if the software upgrade fails they will do the same again. They have had a terrible time with spammers getting in and flooding the board with posts. It is a great website.

It had to be upgraded because it was starting to get spammed everyday with at least 20 spam threads. They were trying to do it last week but they had problems. Hopefully should be up in next few days.

Hello

I actually got on the site one time and signed in. Then it all froze up so they may still be trying to get it up. The site that is. LOL It had a whole different appearance. I don't know if it is going to have a subscription fee or not but that would be OK with me if it keeps spammers away.

With the default views loaded...pretty different.

EDIT: Actually looks like they migrated away from vBulletin to another PHP product, Invision. Interesting...
